Shipments and Returns

Your Order

All prices are shown in GB Pounds Sterling inclusive of UK VAT at the current rate. Orders dispatched to addresses outside the EU are free from UK VAT.

Please note: Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on Monday.

Your order is confirmed when you receive an automated order confirmation. This signals that your order has passed through the payment gateway successfully and is in our system.

Please allow up to 10 working days for your canvases to be made. Other items are dispatched once payment has been received, but please allow up to 5 working days for order processing.

We endeavour to keep you fully informed on the progress of your order.  If a product is out of stock a member of the sales team will be in touch as soon as possible to arrange a refund or to offer an alternative where possible. 


We use TNT for delivering your order. TNT is a trackable and insured courier service for orders in the UK and worldwide. Delivery time for European orders is 3-7 working days from date of dispatch. UK mainland next working day from date of dispatch, worldwide orders take from 4-10 working days.

Shipping fees include handling and packing fees as well as shipping costs. Handling fees are fixed, whereas transport fees vary according to the total weight of the shipment. We advise you to group your items together in one order. We cannot combine two distinct orders placed separately, and shipping fees will apply to each of them.

We reserve the right to levy additional shipping charges, at our discretion, for over-size packages and addresses that attract additional charges from our shippers. In all cases you will be contacted prior to shipping to obtain your consent for additional charges.

If you require Express or timed delivery by TNT an additional cost will be applied. Please contact us by phone or email if you would like to have the delivery of your order upgraded. It may not always be possible to dispatch it in time, and this will depend on when we receive your order. In these cases we will keep you informed about the progress of your order. We will provide you with a link to track your package online.

If you would like advice about your order please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help. When purchasing large quantities of goods please email or phone a member of the sales team for advice and help. We can often arrange more economic methods of shipping larger quantities of goods. 


Your package will be dispatched at your own risk, but special care is taken to protect fragile objects. We use plastic reinforced corners, bubble wrap and card sheeting to pack stretcher bars and stretched canvases. This is generally sufficient to ensure that they reach you in good condition.

On receipt of goods, if the parcel is damaged, then please sign for the goods as ‘Damaged’ before opening. If there is damage we request that you keep all packaging and photograph the box showing the damage as it appears from the outside. This will help with any claim placed with the courier company.

All claims for damaged or faulty goods must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of receipt. The cost of the goods and carriage will be repaid in full once we have confirmed the goods are faulty or damaged. 

Return of Goods

Cancellation: If for some reason you wish to return your goods please cancel in writing (via letter, fax or email) within fourteen working days of receipt of the goods. The customer will be required to cover the cost of return of the goods. Goods should be returned in saleable condition. Some items, such as made-to-measure canvases and cut lengths of fabric, will be subject to a re-stocking fee. Please contact us in advance of returning your goods for confirmation of any additional fees.

Refunds will be made within 30 days and by the same method as payment. 


In partnership with our secure payment Gateway supplier we follow the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). You credit card details will not be seen by anyone at Brodie & Middleton Ltd or our payment gateway. Any data provided is treated in compliance with the PCI DSS standard. Information given to us via other methods is always treated in the strictest of confidence. Your details will not be released to third parties.

Age Restricted Items 

By accepting our terms and conditions you are agreeing that you are over the age of 18 and are able to purchase restricted items such as knives, blades, solvents and propellant based sprays and varnishes.
